17th Picadillo Tapas Competition

from 4 th to 14 th November 2021

We have the perfect pairing

By pairing the Tapas, which have a strong Coruña accent, with Galician Designations of Origin wines, we offer a little of our landscape, territory, climate... our essence. The wine-making tradition of Valdeorras dates back to Roman times. Under the protection of a Mediterranean-oceanic micro-climate, the Romans planted vineyards and built wine presses. They thus gave rise to a culture, which today is secular, looking after the vineyard and producing exquisite wines, to which pilgrims on their way to Santiago would sing about. The production areas occupy a vast part of the basins of the rivers Sil, Xarés and Bibèi. The climate is drier than in the rest of Galicia, and the Atlantic influence is mixed with continental features.

Information for coeliacs

One of the most difficult experiences for a coeliac may be eating out. To deal with this situation, the Association of Celiacs of Galicia (ACEGA) tries to give advice to as many restaurants as possible, as in the case of Tapas Picadillo. Each of the tapas suitable for celiacs that are submitted to the competition are reviewed and checked.
