In this edition and as a tribute to the centenary of Manuel María Puga y Parga’s death we are adding an extraordinary category to commemorate this event. The Special Centenary Picadillo Award will distinguish the best tapa whose preparation is a re-interpretation of some of Picadillo’s recipes included in his book 'La cocina práctica'. This award, given the exceptional nature of convening it, will not take place in future editions.
We continue awarding the best combinations (pairings) of wines and tapas, which this time will have to be covered by the Ribeiro Denomination of Origin, a D. O. that has as much experience as innovation. After the pairings with wines of Valdeorras and Monterrei, Tapas Picadillo maintains its commitment to Galician wines to pair these with the best tapas in the gastronomy of A Coruña. The participating establishments will have signs that are clearly visible showing the tapas and wines, as well as the price of both of the tapa and the glass of wine.
